Biography

Kennet Sawatzky (Mr. Ken) was born  January 8, 1979 in Loma Plata, Paraguay South America.  At the age of 5 years, he decided to become a teacher. In 2000 he got his teaching degree for elementary education (grades 1 - 6) and taught for several years in his bilingual (German / Spanish) community.

He always had a passion for music which led to the creation of several children's and family music albums after founding the music group Sawatzky's Liederwelt <Sawatzky's Song World>

He also wrote and recorded songs for a children's program of a local radio station in Paraguay, where he worked for 5 years (sound engineer) during his high-school and college time. Ken performed at numerous children festivals, in local churches, youth events and weddings.

Ken and his wife moved to Canada at the end of 2003 where he learned English and tried his hand at corporate jobs.  Soon after getting to Canada, he became a freelance story writer for children and teenager.

After 4 years of living in Canada, Ken became a certified Montessori Preschool teacher in Winnipeg. He is known as Mr. Ken with, the guitarra as he teaches Spanish lessons in his school. In his free time he participates as an actor in low german plays, performs with his low german band 3molPlaut and produces low german podcasts (PlautCast).
